The 'Smart City Santander' demonstration center opens its doors with technology from Telefónica

The 'Smart City Santander' demonstration center, fruit of the agreement between the city council of this Cantabrian city and Telefónica, has opened its doors to show citizens and companies the technologies developed to create smart cities and the advances made in Santander, which has 12.000 sensors distributed throughout the city to offer smart services.

Located in Enclave Pronillo, the 'Smart City Santander' demonstration center, created by Telefónica with a budget of 200.000 euros as a result of the agreement with the Santander city council, has opened its doors to show companies and citizens the latest technological advances in the development of smart cities and the proposals in this area that have been launched in the Cantabrian city..

The 'Smart City Santander' center is structured into three different areas: a multimedia space; a service demonstration area available to companies and municipal developments carried out in Santander, and another of new technological experiences in the development of smart cities.

The consulting and intelligent space management company Kilika has been responsible, commissioned by Telefónica, to carry out the design, manufacturing and implementation of this demonstration center.

Developed by Telefónica, sponsor of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (Say), whose president is precisely the mayor of Santander, Iñigo de la Serna, The center also has a space dedicated to training and experimentation specially designed for entrepreneurs and the R&D departments of universities in order to promote the development of new services and technologies in this environment..
