Seven Projectiondesign DLP F32 projectors form the basis of an immersive and panoramic viewing installation of 180 degrees launched by the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin. A dedicated hardware allows the correction of the images creating a fluid transition between the different projectors thus achieving a continuous and bright video sensation.

blank The Norwegian Projectiondesign has supplied seven projectors F32 DLP projectors for the installation of immersive and panoramic viewing of 180 high-resolution degrees that opened this weekend at the Fraunhofer HHI Time Lab in Berlin. The screen with a size of 3,35 X 12 meters presents a special resolution of around 7.000 pixels and a brightness of a few 28.000 Lumens. The projection of images in high definition of this installation are achieved thanks to a series of optical mirrors on a curved screen of 180 Degrees. A dedicated hardware allows the correction of the images creating a fluid transition between the different projectors thus achieving a continuous and bright video sensation along the dozen meters of the screen. The system is backed by a Wave Field Synthesis surround sound system (WFS). Christian Wessig, from the Department of Image Processing at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute in Berlin, stressed that “The aim of this installation is to enable digital cinema experts and prestigious directors, as Tom Tykwer, Discover and immerse yourself in the fascination of digital cinema projection and video systems, Involving them in global economic developments and challenges. In the case of visitors, experience a multimedia environment that fully experiences acoustic and visual broadcasts of live events and a wide range of film formats.
