Sony and Cine Colombia launch the first complex 100% digital in Latin America

Cine Colombia is the first cinema chain in Latin America to have a multiplex of eight digital screens using Sony projectors with 8.8 millions of pixels, with the highest quality digital cinema projection available on the market.

The professional division of Sony Latin America and Cine Colombia have announced the first multiplex, in this case eight screens, fully digitized with Sony 4K SXRD projectors (Silicon Glass Reflective Display) DCI certified (by its acronym in English Digital Cinema Initiative) in territorial Latin America.

Considered the leader in 4K technology, The Sony Digital Cinema 4K projection system has the highest quality of digital cinema projection available on the market offering 8.8 millions of pixels. Most digital cinemas only have a 2K level, equivalent to approximately 2.2 million pixels. The image quality of a 4K projection is completely fluid and constant, compared to 2K projections, where when you approach the screen you can see the pixels that make it up.

In addition, with Sony 4K SXRD projectors, the best 3D images are obtained thanks to the dual lens system that allows two images to be shown to both eyes simultaneously., unlike 2K projectors that only allow one image to be displayed in each eye at a time.

During the ShowEast exhibition held in Miami, FL during the week of 24 October, Sony exhibited the Sony SRX-R320P projector again.
