Innovative interactive display developed to handle holograms in the air
The Russian company Displair has presented a prototype of a system that allows 3D images to be projected onto a layer of artificial fog and to be able to interact with them as if it were a touch screen.
Displair has developed a system capable of projecting holograms that can be moved by gestures, in the purest style Minority Report. The system uses a projector and a dense cold fog that doubles as a screen, and projects 3D images on it from a computer. After, Infrared camera analyzes finger movements, with an accuracy of up to one centimeter, and responds to them as if it were the input of a smartphone screen.
With Displair, The user can tap on image elements to select them, swipe to pass images or emulate a "multi-touch" system if the user uses both hands to enlarge or shrink an object. Displair has a response time of 0,2 seconds and can react to 1.500 Entry Points, with an accuracy of one centimeter, depending on the projection screen (which can range from 40 at 140 Inch).
The creators of Display are looking for investors to carry out the project, although there are already several entities interested in acquiring the technology. Among them is the Medical Group of Russia, which will use it to set up an interactive terminal at the reception of your building.
