Cisco has introduced CloudVerse, a platform that combines the elements needed to build, Manage and connect public clouds, and that is based on three fundamental pillars that the company had already been offering, What the unified data center looks like, The intelligent network for cloud services and cloud applications.

The new Culm, called CloudVerse, Allows you to build, Manage and connect clouds, both public and private and hybrid. New Offering Incorporates Unified Data Center (Unified Data Center), the Intelligent Network for Cloud Services (Cloud Intelligent Network) and Cloud Applications.

Thanks to the combination of these elements, Cisco CloudVerse enables organizations to take advantage of all the benefits of cloud computing: Increased agility and cost savings, Optimized security and a guaranteed dynamic experience.

According to the first Global Cloud Index prepared by Cisco – which analyzes how Cloud Computing is transforming the way companies and consumers consume IT services- more than 50 percent of all data center workloads will be processed in cloud environments in 2014, while global cloud traffic will multiply by twelve to 2015, reaching the 1,6 Annual Zettabytes (the equivalent of the total video if every person on the planet recorded more than four days of high-quality video).

Cloud Challenges
The study also indicates that this exponential growth in data center and cloud traffic will create the need for advanced capabilities that allow data centers and the network to work together to support the end-to-end delivery of cloud services and applications.

Cloud traffic is dynamic, so advanced network management and intelligence capabilities become indispensable elements to ensure that computing resources, network and storage can be delivered on demand.

However, today, most Cloud technologies reside in silos, hindering efficient and integrated management. By integrating the three foundational elements of the Cloud – Cisco Unified Data Center with Cisco Intelligent Network to enable Cloud Applications- CloudVerse provides end users with an enterprise-class experience in the cloud, between Clouds and beyond the Cloud.

A large number of companies, Service providers and governments are already adopting Cisco CloudVerse as the foundation of their cloud strategies, including ACS-Xerox, Fujitsu, NWN, Orange Business Services, Silicon Valley Bank, Telecom Italia, Telstra, Verizon Terremark or Telefónica Spain. Today, more than 70 percent of leading cloud providers are leaning on CloudVerse on their cloud journey.

Cisco has introduced new solutions framed in the three key elements of CloudVerse:

Unified Data Center simplifies and optimizes cloud infrastructure by providing a fabric-based platform designed to automate the "as-a-service" model across physical and virtual environments, distributing IT resources in a scalable and flexible way in the data center and between data centers thanks to Unified Computing and Unified Fabric. Cisco Now Adds New Unified Management Capabilities (Unified Management):

  • Cisco Intelligent Automation for the Cloud provides automated provisioning and management of data center resources to distribute IT services across the DPC and across DPCs.
  • Cisco Network Services Manager creates, Deploy and modify physical and virtual network resources automatically and on demand.

The Cloud Intelligent Network provides a consistent and secure user experience regardless of location and across the multiple clouds involved in service delivery. Now, Cisco Adds New Cloud-Connection Capabilities:

  • 'Cloud-to-Cloud Connect' (Interconnection between Clouds), that allows an identification, location and dynamic optimization of resources through the pioneering Network Positioning System (Network Positioning System) Cisco, available on ASR equipment (Aggregation Services Routers) of families 1000 and 9000 during the year 2012.

Cloud Services and Applications, that facilitate the 'as-a-service' delivery of Cisco and third-party cloud applications. A variety of capabilities have been added to the Cisco Managed Collaboration Solutions platform (HCS, Hosted Collaboration Solution):

  • Private Cloud HCS.This new solution helps organizations build their own cloud collaboration platform using Cisco's validated and tested designs and comprehensive management capabilities.
  • Mobile HCS. Mobile service providers now have the ability to easily and cost-effectively deliver collaboration solutions from the cloud, extending services from 'fixed' devices to mobile terminals. For example,, Providers can connect virtually thousands of a company's mobile users using a single contact number, or allow customers to redirect an ongoing call from a landline to a mobile phone.
  • Customer Collaboration. Cisco is providing more affordable and accessible contact center capabilities by adding Cisco Customer Collaboration offerings to the HCS platform. These offers are now available on a limited basis; It is expected to be generally available during the current fiscal year.

The same, Cisco Completes CloudVerse Support with New Cloud Enabling Services That Combine Cisco's Professional Services Expertise with That of a Comprehensive Partner Ecosystem, helping organizations accelerate their journey to the Cloud successfully and take advantage of all the advantages of Cloud Computing.

According to Luis Palacios, Director of Business Development for Data Center and Virtualization in the Cisco South Region, "Until now, Cloud technologies resided in silos, making it difficult to build and manage environments and interconnect multiple clouds. This situation generated important challenges that Cisco is now responding to by facilitating a multi-cloud world and connecting people, communities and organizations through a guaranteed user experience on the next-generation Internet".

"We are delighted that a large number of leading organizations and service providers around the world are adopting Cisco CloudVerse as the foundational foundation of their cloud strategies, and we look forward to working together with them on their journey to a multi-Cloud scenario.", added.

Cisco CloudVerse provides a significant economic advantage by helping organizations deliver enterprise IT resources as a service and dynamic services to SMBs and consumers. Migrating from a traditional virtualized data center to a CloudVerse-based cloud can reduce IT's total cost of ownership (TCO considering capital and operational costs) even in a 50 percent, in addition to reducing the time it takes to offer new Cloud services from weeks to minutes.
