The Portuguese company Displax Interactive Systems will unveil at the Integrated Systems Europe fair 2012, held in Amsterdam between the 31 January and the 2 February, the Multitouch Globe, The first dome-shaped multi-touch spherical surface.

Displax Interactive Systems, A Portuguese company hoping to transform our landscape and environment into a large touch screen, has created a dome-shaped multi-touch surface that allows consumers to interact with the content displayed on the dial by touching its surface.

The Multitouch Globe, According to this Portuguese company, Works better in some digital signage applications than a flat touchscreen surface, Because many natural designs are best displayed through a dome-shaped surface. The company says it expects a wide variety of industries to be interested in this technology., including geographic information systems, Museums, television channels and visitor attraction or entertainment facilities.

The capacitive multi-touch technology developed by Displax is available as a transparent and flexible polymer film that can be applied to non-conductive flat surfaces, giving them multi-touch capabilities. Content is displayed using a projector and lens “Fisheye” Special to adapt the projection to the spherical surface.

Displax will also show in ISE 2012 the Skin Multitouch, The only multi-touch glass aluminium developed in the world; the Oqtopus, An innovative multi-touch table; and the Multitouch Platform, A software suite with several multi-touch applications for collaborative uses.
