Fiber optic measurements according to ICT-2 with Promax meters
Promax, manufacturer of test and measurement systems and equipment for broadcasting and distribution of television signals, has expanded the possibilities of its range of products by providing them with the necessary circuitry to carry out the measures required by the new ICT-2 legislation.
The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade has approved the new Regulation on Common Telecommunications Infrastructures ICT 2 for access to telecommunications services (telephony, broadband, radio and television) inside the buildings. The aim of this regulation is to facilitate the introduction of ultra-fast access infrastructures in new buildings and to promote, in this way, its deployment by operators.
The new ICT Regulation 2 includes as additional infrastructure in buildings fiber optics and coaxial cable, to make it easier for users to contract telephony services, broadband and television, and favors the introduction of the functionalities of the "Digital Home" in homes. These infrastructures involve the construction and installation in the buildings of enclosures intended to house telecommunications equipment, pipes and other elements necessary for interior wiring, cabling of the different networks (copper pair, coaxial cable and fiber optics), antennas and wiring for the reception of the radio and television service.
Promax makes available to telecommunications installers who want to update their registration in the Register of Telecommunications Installers following the directives of the new ICT2 to register as an installer of type F, its entire range of products (field meter, MF simulator, multimeter, ground meter, isolation meter, selective optical power meter, single-carbon fiber optic tester for FTTH, network scanner/certifier, Etc.) guaranteeing the regulatory compliance of your equipment and instrumentation attending to the necessary requirements for each type of installation.
Jordi Pallarés, commercial director of Promax, offers in this video an introduction to FTTH networks in the new ICT legislation in response to the growing need for bandwidth.
