The manufacturer of network devices,TRENDnet, has released the TK-217i, a dual-port USB KVM switch that lets you manage a pair of PCs or Macs from a single computer.

The wired and wireless networking hardware and systems company, TRENDnet, announced the availability of the dual-port USB KVM switch, model TK-217i, that allows you to control two PCs or Macs from a single computer (with a USB keyboard set, USB mouse and VGA monitor). This switch makes it easy to manage laptops or desktops with VGA and USB ports, Since you only have to press a 'flipflop' switch button to "pass" from one computer to another. In addition, an LED indicator shows which computer is active.

The TK-217i model, eliminates the need for a driver, comes with an extension cord of 1.5 meters and two sets of VGA and USB combination cables 80 centimeters.

TRENDnet's dual-port USB KVM switch can work with virtually all USB mice and keyboards, and supports screen resolutions up to 2048 X 1536 Pixels. With included client software, users can download tools compatible with Windows operating systems, Linux and Mac OS to define hotkeys (hot-keys') and create "self-scanning" intervals.

The TK-217i also does not require a power supply, since for this purpose it uses the USB port of the computer. The TK-217i model, holding CE and FCC certifications, offers a two-year warranty and is available for sale through TRENDnet's online and retail partners.
