Lux Greco surprises Toledons and visitors with new warping and video mapping techniques
The Rojas Theatre, the Catedral Primada and the Miradero de Toledo are the stages chosen for the fourth edition of the light and sound show Lux Greco, that is projected in these three enclaves of the capital of La Mancha during the weekends of the 13 and 14 and 20 and 21 July.
Lux Greco, the 3D audiovisual projection dedicated to El Greco held in the city of Toledo, It reaches the fourth edition with new stages for its light and sound show: the Teatro de Rojas and the Paseo del Miradero join the Cathedral this year. Ibercover, Ratz Lab and Aida Multimedia are the three companies that will carry out the projections that will illuminate the historical monuments of the city of La Mancha. The show will take place on days 13, 14, 20 and 21 July, in passes ranging from 11:00 to the 01:00, every half hour in the Rojas and every hour in the other two scenarios.
Aida Multimedia screens at the Catedral Primada a show similar to that of previous years, although new elements have been introduced. The two sequences that the projection has show viewers images of the seventeenth century and the paintings of El Greco in his stage in Toledo.
'Looking at Toledo'
while, in the Miradero the spectacle projected on the north façade of the convent of Santa Fe last is repeated 25 of November on the occasion of the Night Toledana, which served to commemorate the 25 Toledo's anniversary as a World Heritage City. It is a projection entitled 'Looking Toledo' and made by the audiovisual company Ratz Lab, who praises that the spectacle “can be seen from different points of the city without having to be in the Plaza del Miradero itself, Thanks to the strategic position that the building has on the Vega”. All this, through a journey of 20 minutes in which Toledo and visitors can tour the different artistic moments that the regional capital has lived.
The assembly in this scenario is divided into two parts: on the one hand the history of Toledo and the paintings of El Greco through flat projections, and a second part with Mappig video effects that allows surprising compositions using the façade of the building, that changes texture and seems to collapse.
New effects and techniques
last, the façade of the Teatro de Rojas is the space “star” that comes to life thanks to an assembly made with the 3D mapping technique by the company Ibercover. The director of the screening, Manuel Horisthnik, explained that in the lighting of the Teatro de Rojas there are new effects and techniques that include warping and video mapping in which you play with the paintings of El Greco and also with the architectural elements of the building.
The director of Ibercover has pointed out that the public will travel thanks to a dynamic video of ten minutes the life of the Cretan painter, its great spatial references -Crete, Venice, Rome and Toledo-, of his most representative works and the influence that his work (largely developed in Toledo) had in other great artists such as Eduard Manet, Santiago Rusiñol, Pablo Picasso, Pio Baroja, Rilke, Matisse or Jackson Pollock.
