River 2016 invites the world to the Games with a spectacular projection on the water
Icon, Company specialized in event production and branding, has combined water from the River Thames and images to create a spectacular projection onto a water screen of 24 meters high by 80 meters wide in which a promotional video of the Rio Olympic Games has been projected 2016.
The English branding company Icon has executed on the River Thames, as it passes through London, a projection show on a water screen of 1.000 m2 to invite the world to the Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. To produce the three-minute show, water was pumped from the River Thames to 4.000 liters per minute to create a 24 water display×80 m on which a three-minute promotional video was projected inviting the world to the Rio Games 2016.
The screening was commissioned by the Government of Brazil and the Department of Tourism of the carioca country and took place near Jubilee Gardens and Casa de Brasil, which had been installed at Somerset House for the duration of the London Games 2012.
In addition to the projection, Icon also installed an integral outdoor PA system so that the soundtrack could be heard above the noise of falling water.. In addition, the company designed and installed a light show on the river barge that joined the event and was responsible for branding and hospitality services on this specially chartered vessel from which VIP guests could watch the projection.
Richard Dale, General Manager of Icon's Event Production Division, Reviewed: “With only a short period of time to plan this project, the Icon team has worked very hard to carry out this multimedia event. Building on our good relations with the Port of London Authority and several key partners of the London organising committee 2012, the team has produced this imposing spectacle as a great closure to the celebrations of the Games and the Brazilian representatives were delighted with the results.”
