The production company Pictures That Move has carried out the creativity, the design and production of all the visual contents of the work 'The Last Rider', a musical with a unique staging: retro projections of animated backgrounds, 3D holography and projections on fabrics in large format.
Two years after gestation, the musical 'The Last Rider’ has premiered at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid. The production of Andrés Vicente Gómez, libretto by Ray Loriga and direction by Víctor Conde will be on the bill in Madrid for five weeks and in 2013 will premiere in London's West End.
'The Last Rider’ is a unique production in many ways. It is worth mentioning among them an innovative staging that has varied projection techniques. Visual content, created in 2K, are mostly backprojected on screens integrated into the set. For the latter, the production company Pictures That Move, who has been in charge of creativity, design and production of all these effects, he traveled to Saudi Arabia where he shot the scenes of the horse in front of a chroma of more than 250 square meters.
The production team, headed by Peter Specht, has had Jorge Palacín as art director, and the participation of filmmaker and post-production expert André Siebert, who has been in charge of the direction and Matte Painting of the projection funds. 3D, the post-production of the funds and holography has been carried out in Madrid, Munich and Berlin.
The biggest difficulty of the project has been to achieve a style that, pese amser produced digitally, did not break with the Victorian aesthetic of the musical. To achieve the desired effect the Pictures That Move team has worked closely with Víctor Conde, Morgan Large and Ray Loriga, director, set designer and screenwriter of the play, respectively.
