Toshiba Corporation Board of Directors Has Elected Hisao Tanaka to Succeed Norio Sasaki as the Company's New Global Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. During this time he has held positions of responsibility in a large number of companies and subsidiaries of Toshiba Corporation around the world.. Between October 2002 and 2006 He was the top executive of the Digital Products and Computer division worldwide. Since then, he has held the position of Executive Corporate Vice President with responsibility for the purchasing areas, logistics, quality, Productivity & Environment.
Tanaka's nomination had been made to the Board of Directors by the company's Nominating Advisory Committee after conducting a thorough evaluation of his dossier, Professional and personal achievements and qualities.
