the museum of the Autonomy of Andalusia, located in the Sevillian town of Coria del Río, it has a museum resource of augmented reality (Ar) of Harp Solutions in its permanent showroom, the first carried out so far with this technology in an institution of this type at the national level, that allows its visitors to take a virtual tour of the institutions of self-government.
The project, made by Arpa Solutions, Spanish company based in the technology park of Malaga, is based on its Daram SDK software platform, creating amazing interactive experiences for numerous applications. In this case it focuses on the pedagogical and cultural function to promote interaction between visitors, to show the different Andalusian institutions, with three-dimensional virtual models of the buildings where they are located, as the Andalusian Parliament and the Governing Council (in Seville) and the High Court of Justice of Andalusia (in Granada).
Through circular trays with printed markers, these models are placed in front of a webcam while on the screen appear the virtual models on the markers that the visitors of the museum carry. At the base of each building are the legends with information about the Andalusian institution it represents and its governmental functions, in addition to the history of the building.
The Daram SDK platform developed by Arpa Solutions, which was recently presented at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, processes in real time the virtual object and what the camera captures. It is available for Windows and Mac, smartphones, tablets and iOS and Android systems, and supports GPS tracking, 2D Markerless, 2D Marker and 3D facetracking. The company has also developed the ARViewer viewpoint, oriented to tourist or archaeological sites; Daram Industry, for industrial environments, factories, Etc. and Daram Mobile Gamer, for the entertainment sector.
