UEFA celebrates Champions League final 2013 with a mapping show
UEFA commemorates Champions League final with 3D show in London. The realization of the multimedia projection, which was carried out by Acciona, made a review of the great characters and teams in the history of the European Cup of football. This was broadcast in Trafalgar Square the days before the match.
Images projected in three dimensions accompanied by music and special effects are the basis of the mapping show that 22 to the 24 of May were screened in London's Trafalgar Square. The Spanish company Acciona Productions and Design is responsible for this assembly, conceived by UEFA as a prelude to the Champions League final, held on 25 May at Wembley Stadium between German teams Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, where Bayern got their victory, The fifth in its history.
The 3D multimedia projection recreated some of the most impactful moments of the European Cup since its origin in 1955, including a tribute to some of the legends and champions of the competition, and a review of the champion clubs. There was also room for more recent history, as the road to the final of the contenders was remembered.
Acciona has designed and built specifically for this event a screen of 21 meters long and 10 meters high, more than 200 square meters, composed of hexagons that recreated the shape of an open ball.
For the show were used 10 projectors 22.000 lumens each, that achieved 4K resolution, which provided an image quality of 4.000 Pixels.
Sound equipment, Distributed in two towers on each side of the screen, had a capacity of 40.000 Watts.

Result of Acciona's comprehensive commitment to sustainability in all its activities, The event was carbon neutral. This means that the CO2 emissions generated by it have been calculated., compensated in a clean energy project, thereby achieving that the final balance of emissions is equal to zero.
