ERECA develops a fiber optic transmission system for the Panasonic AW-HE120 camera
The AW-HE Integrated HD Camera 120 Panasonic now incorporates a fibre optic transmitter unit, Topas ET120, developed by the French company ERECA, the result of the technological collaboration between the two companies.
The French company ERECA and Panasonic have reached a technology collaboration agreement resulting in the development of the Topas ET120 fiber optic transmission solution for Panasonic's AW-HE120 device, an integrated HD camera commonly used in reality shows and todonoticias channels.
Topas is a fiber optic transmission system, designed specifically for the AW-HE120 integrated camera. The special design of the transmitter unit fits perfectly to the AW-HE120 camera base, since it has the same mechanical clamping interface. Transmitter modules are available in black and white.
Topas system enables the use of integrated cameras in long-haul applications, with the possibility of taking advantage of the existing fibre optic infrastructure in the facilities. As a result, it has a multi-camera system with IP control, cost-effective through fibre optic transmission.
Different versions of the transmitter module are available that allow the use of either conventional single-mode fiber using SC/APC connectors, or hybrid fiber with remote power via 3K LEMO connectors. The module transmits HD/SD-SDI signals, Composite Video, Genlock, RS422 serial control and Ethernet control.
Optionally, two two-way audio signals can also be transmitted with XLR connectors, or two channels with stereo microphone input and phantom power if required. On the other hand, the composite video channel can be converted to a return signal in SDI (para prompter o videoassist).
The system is completed with the receiver plates and the Net Racer chest that provides power, Cooling and control monitoring. The Net Racer Chest, rack width, Offers 16 Slots. SC/APC plates occupy a slot (except those that offer audio), while LEMO 3K boards occupy two slots each.
The AW-HE120 Built-in HD Camera, Available in pearl white or metallic black to best suit the décor, can be operated remotely via an IP connection, allowing easy configuration of a multi-camera system with remote control and cost-effective. Its 20x optical zoom lens covers a wide range of distances, from wide-angle to telephoto, which is complemented by a 10x digital zoom function.
It also incorporates a four-position ND filter (Clear, 1/4, 1/16, 1/64) that makes it easy to adjust exposure. The image capturer, also incorporated in some Panasonic P2 HD series camcorders, is based on three MOS U.L.T sensors from 2,2 Megapixel and Type 1/3, that provide excellent Full HD picture quality.
