The French company ERECA and Panasonic have reached a technological collaboration agreement resulting in the development of the Topas ET120 fiber optic transmission solution for Panasonic's AW-HE120 device, an integrated HD camera commonly used in realities and channels of allnews.

Topas is a fiber optic transmission system, designed specifically for the AW-HE120 integrated camera. The special design of the transmitting unit fits perfectly to the base of the AW-HE120 camera, as it has the same mechanical clamping interface. Transmitter modules are available in black and white.

Panasonic AW-HE120The Topas system allows the use of cameras integrated in long-distance applications, with the ability to take advantage of existing fiber optic infrastructure in the facility. As a result, you have a multi-camera system with IP control, effective cost through fiber optic transmission.

Different versions of the transmitter module are available to use either conventional single-mode fiber using SC/APC connectors, or hybrid fiber with remote power via LEMO 3K connectors. Module transmits HD/SD-SDI signals, Composite video, Genlock, RS422 Serial Control and Ethernet Control.

optionally, two two-way audio signals can also be transmitted with XLR connectors, or two channels with stereo microphone input and phantom power if required. On the other hand, you can turn the composite video channel into a return signal in SDI (for prompter or videoassist).

The system is completed with the receiver plates and the Net Racer chest that provides power, cooling and control supervision. The Net Racer Chest, rack width, Offers 16 Slots. SC/APC boards occupy a slot (except those that offer audio), while LEMO 3K boards occupy two slots each.

Its 20x optical zoom lens covers a wide range of distances, from wide-angle to telephoto, complemented by a 10x digital zoom function.

It also incorporates a four-position ND filter (Clear, 1/4, 1/16, 1/64) that makes it easier to adjust exposure. The image capturer, also built into some Panasonic P2 HD series camcorders, is based on three U.L.T. MOS sensors 2,2 megapixels and type 1/3, providing excellent image quality in Full HD.
