AMX Forward: multi-room distributed audio amplifier for acoustically demanding installations
The new Alero multi-room distributed audio amplifier can be installed in a single rack unit (1Or) high, allowing integrators greater installation options and delivering maximum sound quality.
Officially presented by AMX during the recent Cedia technology contest 2013, Alero Power Amplier (ALR-AMP-8) is a multi-room distributed audio amplifier that is characterized by having a single rack unit (1Or) high, giving integrators more design options.
AMX Forward, which will be available on the market in the first quarter of 2014, provides high sound quality thanks to the audio technology of ICEpower, an independent subsidiary of audio solutions from Bang & Olufsen, that make it a particularly suitable option for acoustically demanding and environmentally sensitive installations.
To design this audio amplifier, AMX consulted its integrators, asking them to indicate the functions to be included in the new equipment. In addition to the highest sound quality, the general consensus was that it was the ideal size to install the amplifier in already overcrowded racks of equipment.
AMX developed this request, whose result is a compact 1RU chassis that offers a versatility that until now did not have this type of equipment and practically unlimited installation options, even in enclosed and unventilated spaces. In addition, Alero complements perfectly with the Precis DSP Distributed Audio Matrix Switcher system from AMX.
Another of the differential characteristics of Alero is its low energy consumption thanks to the high efficiency Class D amplification technology, which uses switching transistors to prevent power loss from the linear power regulation used in Class AB amplifiers, even in standby mode, no need for external cooling source.
