The new multimedia screen of Daktronics that has been installed in Madison Square Garden integrates 24 High definition LED displays, reflecting the circular design of the stadium, providing maximum visibility from all corners.
Madison Square Garden has unveiled the latest phase of its transformation project that, in addition to including numerous modifications and improvements in its architecture, it has also addressed improvements to its digital signage systems such as the new marker..
This transformation project began in 2011 with the renewal of the seats, making them more comfortable, and the remodeling of the pavilion where new glazed sky bridges have been incorporated that offer a great vision of everything that happens in the stadium. This restructuring has culminated in the installation of a new LED video signaling system, known as GardenVision, whose main element is the new marker, located in the center of the pavilion. Its manufacture has been carried out by Brookings and for its construction the technology of Daktronics.
This multimedia screen consists of 24 individual curved HIGH DEFINITION LED displays, that reflect the circular design of the stadium and provides maximum visibility from anywhere in the pavilion.
“Among the new technological advances that we have implemented, the scoreboard stands out, that integrates the most dynamic multimedia display in the industry, with a unique circular design and great image clarity, that ensures that fans receive a magical experience in high definition”, explains Hank Ratner, President and CEO of The Madison Square Garden.
The main video screens show the action that takes place around the board, in order to be able to highlight live the best plays and repetitions. It can also be divided into separate screens where it is possible to display a wide variety of live graphics, animations and statistics, view information and promotional videos. The scoreboard's video screens feature a unique black LED package, providing maximum image clarity and contrast.
GardenVision System
In addition to this multi-screen marker, The GardenVision system also integrates three LED screens in the north and south end of the Chase Bridges that show a combination of video and game statistics; and four long ribbon curved LED screens over two different levels of the seating area. For basketball events, on the edges there are seven sections of table screen with LED annotators that show additional statistics to the minute, partners and event promotions.
Technical specifications
These are the main features of the scoreboard designed by Daktronics for Madison Square Garden:
