The Tourism Consortium of Seville promotes the city with digital information points and an app with augmented reality
Within the framework of the Seville Tourism Plan, the Tourism Consortium of this city has launched the mobile app 'Visit Seville' and the digital information points 'Info Tour', that are supported on a digital platform to offer information of interest and updated to the thousands of tourists who visit the Andalusian capital.
the Seville Tourism Consortium has launched two new technological systems, an app for mobile devices, called 'Visit Seville', and the distribution of 'Info Tour' tactile digital information points, to improve the experience of tourists visiting the Andalusian capital and promote the city's tourism and hotel industry, as part of the Seville Tourism Plan.
These innovative tools, developed by the Innovation area, Technology and Information of the Seville Tourism Consortium, are based on a digital platform with all the information of tourist interest of the city that feeds three channels: a website adapted for mobile devices (smartphones, Tablets); the security system of the web environment and the information and content system.
As the Seville Tourism Consortium itself has explained to Digital AV Magazine, this digital platform and the implementation of these new tourism tools are coordinated and maintained from the Innovation area, Technology and Information, with constantly updated information and content that are dumped both in the new application and in the tactile digital media.
'Info Tour', touch digital information points
In desktop formats of 21 Inch (especially suitable for receptions and hotels), mupis of 32 inches and in wall mount of 40 Inch, the new digital and tactile information points that are part of the 'Info Tour' project will be installed in the five tourist information points in the city of Seville.
"We are in the first phase, consisting of the acquisition of touch screens, that has been awarded by competition to the local company and technological consultancy S.two, that has also developed the app 'Visit Seville' -explain to Digital AV Magazine from the Seville Tourism Consortium-. The purpose of these tactile digital information points is to transfer to this type of digital support accessible to the visitor the most demanded and interesting information of the city that is dumped from the digital platform ".
These touch digital information points have an embedded PC and are currently being installed and implemented in the city's five tourist information offices., located in areas of maximum influx of tourists, although "we do not rule out that it will also be installed in the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Seville (FIBES). In a second phase, we are valuing and contacting the business fabric of the city so that these screens can be installed in hotels, centers of interest and commercial,... as an added value for its customers and greater efficiency and business productivity".
In this sense, from the Seville Tourism Consortium point out the good reception that this initiative has in companies, since "the most expensive work has been done by us on the digital platform, with homogenization, updating and maintenance of all the contents and resources of interest of the city, offering them enormous added value to meet their needs and improve their business and relationship with their customers".
The screens have all the tourist information of the city of Seville, with informative resources, images and videos of more than one hundred monuments of the city, with QR codes so that the visitor can also download it on their mobile or tablet; maps and routes; agenda of cultural and leisure activities, Etc. constantly updated.
App 'Visit Seville'
In similar terms in terms of accessibility, information and contents, the application 'Visit Seville', which can be downloaded for free through the web for android and iphone, also developed by S.dos also incorporates QR codes and augmented reality technology of the hundred most relevant monuments of the city of Seville.
To this is also added the geopositioning technology and the incorporation of the audio guide system that the consortium has in the castle of San Jorge, now evolved for mobile phones and tablets. The app is available in six languages, that automatically adapts to the user's terminal to offer you all the information in your language.
This joint initiative between the Junta de Andalucía, Seville City Council, the Seville Tourism Consortium and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Seville, that is part of its Tourism Plan, not only promotes the main industry of this city, but the relationship with its citizens, providing them with information and content of interest.
