The main theme of Dirk Schlesinger's speech to inaugurate ISE 2014 will revolve around the initiative that Cisco has launched, Abb, Bosch and LG to create a joint platform that drives the smart buildings of the future.

Cisco Consulting Services Global Manufacturing Leader. Dirk Schlesinger, will be commissioned to present ISE's keynote address 2014 that will take place on Monday 3 February at six o'clock in the afternoon at the Amsterdam Forum RAI.

Under the title "Kick-Starting the Market for Building Automation", Schlesinger will offer attendees insight into how an industry initiative driven by culm, Abb, Bosch and Lg can transform the technology of the smart building, offering a common standard for data exchange across multiple devices and disciplines.

In October 2013, culm, Abb, Bosch and LG signed an agreement to develop a common and open platform that unifies the various services that lead to the automation of buildings such as lighting control, energy management, safety, health, audiovisual entertainment and communication.

In ISE's keynote address 2014, Schlesinger to explain how this platform will open up new business models, providing equipment manufacturers with, software developers, service providers, system integrators and other member actors in this ecosystem, the tools needed to foster the home and building automation market.

Cisco Connect CloudWhen a company joins the platform, the goal is for compatible devices to communicate with each other over different networks like WiFi or ZigBee, as well as other cable connections like KNX. It's right now, when customers will be able to manage all appliances and create an Internet link to cloud-based services. And this can be done, regardless of manufacturer.

The initiative that Cisco and its ABB partners, Bosch and LG have started offers great potential for companies that attend ISE. “While the emphasis is on promoting smart home interoperability, it is clear that this initiative will have applications in commercial buildings, so it's a perfect theme for an environment like the one we find, Integrated Systems Europe", explains Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events.

This initiative will be made available to developers throughout this year but will not take place until mid-time 2015. The inaugural ISE conference 2014, taught by Dirk Schlesinger, will be the opportunity to set out what this business model is all about before an international B2B hearing.
