Formed by 45 screens of 46 NEC Display Solutions inches, duPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington has installed the Nemours Discovery Zone video wall. An interactive environment, developed by Kinesis Studio, that immerses children in a fantasy world while they wait to be served.

Nemours/Alfred I Children's Hospital. duPont in Wilmington (Delaware – USA) has installed an interactive wall of 15,2 meters wide by 3 meters high where young patients and their families can immerse themselves in a fantastical world while waiting to be seen.

This big video wall, called Nemours Discovery Zone, It is built with 45 screens of 46 X464A inches NEC Display Solutions. This interactive environment, which has been developed using Microsoft Kinect2 technology, allows them to participate simultaneously up to 30 Users. It depicts a magical world in which magical creatures and flowering plants are visualized for children to interact with objects and develop their imagination.

While NEC Display Solutions has provided the visual solutions, the company Kinesis Studio She has been responsible for creating this experience and providing the gesture technology that allows children and adults to interact with the screen. To design the drawings, they had the help of the Children's Advisory Council, as well as different doctors, Educators, Hospital nurses and physiotherapists, Even the children themselves participated in this project.

“The Discovery Zone is the result of a partnership between NEC's displays and Kinesis Studio's gesture and animation technology. This is the largest digital installation based on creative storytelling ever done in a hospital.", explains Greg Richey, CEO of Kinesis Studio.

The screen 46 NEC X464UN provides high brightness uniformity, low energy consumption and mercury-free components.

With a bezel of 5,7 Mm, this display can display native UHD resolution images in a daisy-chain manner via multiple transmission via DisplayPort 1.2. In this way, you can create a video wall in UHD in full screen or in Full HD with four different sources.
