VIA Alta DS 2 Android: Full HD display with a second independent screen for digital signage

The Taiwanese manufacturer VIA Technologies has introduced its new media player VIA Alta DS 2 with Android support 4.3 and Full HD display on a second independent screen for digital signage applications, Digital kiosks or points of sale, among others.

The latest version of media player with Android support 4.3 VIA High DS 2 now includes Full HD support and display on a second independent screen to offer an ideal solution in digital signage applications, Digital kiosks, Point of Sale Systems, video screens and TVoIP, streaming, Etc. of sectors such as hospitality, education and entertainment.

Thanks to the dual Full HD display, 3D graphics performance, Touch capability and compatibility with the latest content management app on Android improve with VIA Alta DS system 2, since it offers more video quality and connectivity in its operation to achieve active customer participation.

As underlined by Epan Wu, responsible for the VIA Embedded division in this company, "The market demand for digital signage systems with support for Android is growing exponentially. With the ability to handle two independent streams of content via dual display, VIA Alta DS 2 confirms our leadership in this segment".

VIA Alta DS 2 exploits the performance of the dual-core processor Elite E1000 1.0GHz Cortex-A9 SoC developed by the company to deliver 2D and 3D graphics performance, and integrates a video engine that supports Open GL ES 3.0 and simultaneous HD video playback.

In addition, features a wide range of I/O through the front and rear panels with a compact design, with two USB ports 2.0, SD card slot, Line and input/output audio jack, as well as two HDMI ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, a slot for Kensington security and input 12 V DC.
