Harman has added to its catalog JBL reference monitors series 7, 708i of 8 inches and two-way, and 705i of 5 inches and two-way. Two devices that offer a high frequency response and an output that challenges their small size.

Harman 708i and 705i

Taking advantage of the technologies developed in M2 monitors, JBL Professional has developed the reference monitors 7081i and 705i designed for the production of surround content and immersive audio, as well as in broadcast environments. Two teams, What Harman It has incorporated into its offer of audio solutions and they are offered in 8 inches and two-way the first and in 5 Inches and two-way 705i.

From a hardware point of view, Multi-channel monitoring presents several challenges. The presence of video displays may limit speaker placement options, The installation of a power outlet at each location of the speakers is expensive and the management of a multichannel monitoring system requires expensive external equipment. The solution requires a next-generation approach to monitoring. And this is what JBL Professional offers with these two teams.

To deliver high performance, JBL has developed a new high-frequency transducer with a miniature 2409H diaphragm design with low mass and annular shape that allows high performance with low distortion and high frequency response to 35 khz.

725g and 728g woofers

JBL has also designed two new high-excursion woofers of 5 and 8 Inch, 725G and 728G, that allow the speakers to deliver robust low-frequency outputs in the 30Hz range. Both monitors come in birch plywood and lower and rear mounting points.

To reduce the size and cost of installation, the speakers are powered by the Corona DCi power amplifier 8 | 300N of 8 and 4 canals. Both the 705i and 708i can be configured with a single amplifier channel or bi-amplifier. For greater precision in any enclosure, Harman's BSS Soundweb London signal processor offers speaker tuning, room EQ and bass management.

Processor accepts 16 or more analog and AES/EBU inputs, and network with power amplification via Cat5. The entire system can be controlled externally with Harman HiQnet Audio Architect software, a hardware driver or wireless tablet.
