EON600 de JBL Professional: Portable PA enclosures with studio monitor sound
The distributor Earpro has available in the Iberian market the EON600 series, the latest addition of JBL Professional to its well-known range of portable loudspeakers that were presented at NAMM 2014.
The EON600 series of JBL Professional, brand represented in Spain and Portugal by Earpro, represents an exception to the traditional concept of portable PA systems, compact and affordable, as it was designed and built ad-hoc, starting from scratch and using this company's own transducers, as well as its Image Control Waveguide technology, resulting in a flexible and easy PA enclosure with the quality of high-end studio monitors.
Andy Flint, Senior Manager, portable PA marketing by JBL Professional, says that with this enclosure "we have found a way to offer a portable PA system a sound quality typical of studio monitors, which is only possible by implementing JBL's innovations in the development of transducers and waveguide. The striking design of the EON600 series is a logical evolution of the pioneering EON format, to which the latest technologies in acoustics have been applied, materials for enclosures, transducer design and ease of use".
The first model in the series is EON615, a two-way enclosure with a 15" speaker that includes an internal amplifier of 1.000 Watts, providing exceptional scope for a wide variety of applications: from fixed PA systems to those used by concert bands. JBL's custom transducers, for high and low frequencies, deliver very high sound pressure levels with minimal distortion across the entire bandwidth.
The basis of the operation of the EON615 consists of a unique concept in waveguide design, to solve the inherent sound beam problem of conventional enclosures resulting in a different frequency response on and off the axis.
JBL engineers examined the radiation characteristics of the high- and low-frequency transducers of the EON series in 36 different points and designed individual waveguide for both components, that control sound radiation at high frequencies, at the crossing point and at low frequencies.
This design in the structure that guides the frequencies through the entire range of the system results in a consistent response in the 90 degrees of your coverage pattern.
Quality and consistency between on- and off-axis responses provide uniform coverage and high intelligibility, which means that the sound offered by EON615 is the same for the entire audience. These features are the basis of the sound of high-end studio monitors and are now available., for the first time, in a portable and affordable system.
Knowing that the latest sound settings require sophisticated and practical control, JBL engineers developed an interface compatible with iOS and Android, communicating with Bluetooth SmartReady 4.0 and allows you to control the overall volume, adjust the parametric equalizer of 5 Cuts (user-definable) and save and load presets.
Interface controls the digital audio processing subsystem of EON models, which stands out for its low consumption, for their 130 MHz of process speed and by its quantification of 32 Bit.
Four strategically positioned handles allow easy operation of the system, and small feet integrated into the construction of the enclosure facilitate its stacking, transport and storage safely.
