Aristarkh Chernyshev fuses LED technology with 3D animations in his sculpture Userpic, an ode to classical art
The latest work of Aristarkh Chernyshev, Userpic, uses LED screens as the protagonist of his work of art. A sculpture in which a fluctuating 3D animation is visualized with classical works of art representative of the whole world and that was exhibited at the International Festival 'The Circle of Light' in Moscow.
The avant-garde artist Aristarkh Chernyshev has inaugurated in Russia a new work in which visual technology merges with sculptural art. Named Userpic, this sculpture makes use of an LCD panel to show in an original glass canvas different classical works.
As defined by its author, "Userpic is a work in which there is a connection between a profile portrait and a Renaissance portrait of a wealthy resident of a city., who hired an artist to make a portrait to present him in society, I mean, the image of a person presenting himself to the world, is the result of experimenting with a minimalist form, low-resolution aesthetics, a three-dimensional texture animation and RGB LED technology".
In this succession of computer-generated images, works such as The Mona Lisa or The Girl with the Pearl are shown in a constant fluctuation of distorted images..
This video culture with digital structure has been created by its author in tribute to the various works of art made in the world at a time when there was no photography only the art of the author.
This has been the contribution of Aristarkh Chernyshev, member of the artistic collective Electroboutique, to the festival Circle of Light (Circle of Light) which was held in Moscow last October. For five days, the most avant-garde artists have exhibited their innovative works in the Moscow capital, making huge projections on the facades of the buildings and spectacular works of light.
