The increasing proliferation of networked audio systems has encouraged Audio-Technica to develop two cost-effective and efficient products., ATND971 and ATND8677, to integrate microphones directly into Dante audio networks in any type of installation.

Audio-Technica ND971 Lexon

The Japanese manufacturer Audio-Technica, whose products it sells in the Spanish market Lexon, has developed a new series of solutions that allow to integrate the microphones directly into the audio networks Dante.

This solution consists of the ATND971 surface microphone, and Dante ATND8677-equipped desktop microphone stand, that allows you to use any flexo type micro that has an XLRM output connector of 3 Pins.

ATND971 is a condenser cardioid type surface microphone, that the company announced earlier this year as the first on the market capable of transmitting audio and control data together via Audinate's Dante network audio protocol.

A simple Ethernet connection allows this microphone to communicate over a network consisting of Dante-compatible elements and, with the help of the user-programmable switch that incorporates the microphone, You can control these devices by simply pressing a button.

The ATND971 microphone is especially suitable for meeting rooms and other meeting spaces, as it offers simple, low-cost Ethernet connectivity, with high audio quality, a red/green LED indicator that reports status and a built-in switch so the user can control anything, From moving a video camera to changing room lighting to a pre-selected level, among other possibilities.

Audio-Technica ND8677 LexonIn addition, as Dante can withstand up to 512 Two-way audio channels, This surface microphone offers an easily scalable and cost-effective solution, as it is powered over the network via PoE.

ATND971 incorporates UniGuard technology, protects you from RFI interference, as well as the UniSteep bass cutting filter. The programmable switch integrated in the microphone allows you to activate any operation over the network. In addition, via the included red/green LED indicator, The microphone can visually report its status (muted/activated), of the input of telephone calls or any other application using the control system.

For its part, The new ATND8677 from Audio-Technica is a desktop microphone stand equipped with Dante that allows you to use any flexo microphone that has an XLRM type output connector of 3 Pins, giving installers great flexibility to add conventional flexo microphones to Dante audio networks, with the added advantage of having GPIO over Dante, An exclusive feature of this manufacturer.

Eliminating the need for a separate Dante audio interface, and adding the functionality of a switch and a status indicator, ATND8677 connects directly to the audio network via a standard RJ-45 connector, increasing flexibility in the installation and making it very easy to relocate the micros.

In Local mode, The user switch is responsible for muting and activating the microphone, that can be configured to switch between live and muted sound (switching on/off), or to allow live audio to be heard only while the switch is pressed (Press to talk).

In Remote mode, User switch enables functions on any Dante-compatible device, such as pan/tilt movement of a video camera or activating a preset that affects the lighting of the room.

An integrated UniSteep bass cutting filter, tuned to 80 hz, Provides easy switching between flat response and bass cut, Able to reduce low-frequency ambient noise pickup (such as traffic or noise from air conditioners, Etc.), the room's own reverberation and mechanically transmitted vibrations. A three-position input gain selector allows you to precisely accommodate any voice, regardless of its intensity. Stand provides 12V DC phantom power, that can be turned on and off.

Both the profit, such as the UniSteep bass cutting filter, LED indicator status and phantom power offer the option to be controlled locally or remotely from third-party manufactured software.

Recessed buttons on the bottom make it possible for the user to configure the stand locally. Audio settings, Bass cutting and phantom power can be locked in local mode to prevent tampering with these settings.

Support also works natively with Symetrix and Biamp control software (both manufacturers support the new Dante GPIO feature), enabling fully integrated operation with Symetrix Edge networked solutions, Radius 12×8 and Radius AEC, as well as Tesira DSP of Biamp.
