Holographic telepresence makes its way into the film industry to present films
Sony Pictures Spain and Image Net have held the first holographic press conference in Spain on the occasion of the presentation to the media of the film Chappie, by director Neill Blomkamp, with Musion telepresence technology and Videoreport assembly.
The Spanish film industry has used for the first time the holographic telepresence technology of Musion to present the film to the media Chappie, directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Hugh Jakman, who have answered and interacted with journalists in real time with their holographic image.
For this innovative film presentation, made the past 21 February in Madrid by the Spanish subsidiary of Sony Pictures E Image Net, the Musion holographic telepresence system has been used, installed in the locations of Madrid and Berlin. An HD projector displays the holographic image of Jakman and Blomkamp on a gray screen located on the ground, so that the projected image bounces and is reflected in a hologram with 3D effect.
For the presentation of the film, Videoreport, subsidiary of Three60 Group, made the satellite connection between Berlin and Madrid with the supply of cameras, sound, lighting and all the technical means necessary for the success of the call. Holographic technology was provided by the hotel itself, NH Collection Eurobuilding, with whose parent company Videoreport has a technological collaboration agreement.
Both the actor and the director, responsible for films such as District 9 and Elysium, were physically in Berlin, although they holographically attended to the questions of the Spanish press in real time during the presentation of Chappie, film coming to theaters next 13 March, as if they were in the same location.
The Musion System, developed in collaboration with the main telecommunications operators in the market, as Cisco, bt, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Etc; allows you to transmit holographic images of people and objects in real time, without any significant delay in communication. On this occasion it has used the telepresence system of culm, integrated with Eyeliner 3D Musion holographic projection technology, whose images are captured and transmitted in real time by IPTV.
The holographic presentation of Chappie, in which the actors Dev Patel also work (Slumdog Millionaire), Sigourney Weaver and Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium), has been a success both during the press conference and for the participation in social networks.
