British rock band Arctic Monkeys have used Robe's lighting systems for the shows in Brazil that marked the end of their 'AM' world tour and had been performing for 18 months.
The lighting system rental company in Brazil, Lpl, provided Robe's luminaries for the Anhembi concerts in Sao Paulo, an open stage famous for its use during Carnival, and the HSBC Arena in Rio. Erich Bertti supported them with project management.
For these Arctic Monkeys concerts were used 18 luminaires Steal Pointe, 8 Robin LEDWash 600, 40 ColorSpot 2500E AT and 18 ColorWash 2500E AT; as well as strobes and different traditional lamps.
the 18 Pointe luminaires were distributed among the truss at the back of the stage, with some to more or less 2,5 meters from the stage, in a rig just below the special illuminated poster of Arctic Monkeys traveling with them on tour. Luminaires were used for various purposes, including a large number of shutter chases and other equally special effects. The Pointe were also used as beam luminaires in the rig for several concerts in the US..
LEDWash systems 600 They were used to create a wash mat on the stage floor and also to be able to pierce the smoke.; while the ColorWash 2500E AT were located in the side truss, accommodated in grid.
The band does not like front lighting and prefers to keep the stage with a dark and taciturn appearance., So these were among the main lights of the show.. Its side angles also kept the lighting well defined on stage.. The lights were controlled from a full-size grandMA2 console from MA Lighting.
The main challenge in these two concerts was the large magnitude of the events and the limited time to prepare them.. Capacity in Rio was 14.000 people inside and for the show in Sao Paulo sold out and the number of fans was 30.000.
LPL provided a second piece of equipment and another basic infrastructure kit that was simultaneously loaded and assembled in Rio, allowing the amount of kit that had to travel between the two concerts to be reduced, which made the process much faster.
The production manager for the AM tour was Ian' Chip’ Calder and the audio for the two concerts in Brazil was in charge of Gabisom's team.
