Coruña Smart City completes its first phase of implementation of the project led by Indra

The urban platform of Coruña Smart City, the first project in Spain of integral and transversal management of a city through technology, is already installed and operational in the CPD of the City Council of this Galician city, With this, the first phase of the project is finalized, started in June 2013, by the joint venture led by Indra and integrated by Altia, Ilux and the R operator.

This culminates the first phase of the first project in Spain of integral and transversal management of a city through technology, that the consortium led by Indra, consisting of Altia, Ilux and the operator R, started in mid- 2013.

Among the first services that citizens already have at their disposal are the mobile apps of cultural and leisure agenda of the city and the guided tour with augmented reality. 'Integrative brain'

The Coruña Smart City platform is based on SOFIA2, the Internet of Things solution (Iot) of Indra with big data and cloud capabilities that allow you to easily integrate and share information from different systems, mobile devices or social networks.

It is a large management center or 'integrating brain' that facilitates communication between the different services and solutions that make up the city's ecosystem (mobility, water, energy, environment, Leisure and tourism, Etc.) to provide a complete view of the activity. On the other hand, During the first phase of the project, the design has also been carried out., Development and installation in several parks and public buildings of the city of the first gateways to connect sensors and other elements of information collection in the city with the urban platform, via R's high-speed fiber optic network.

Pilots in the execution phase

Another of the pilot projects that is in the execution phase is the pilot of remote management of meters. The City Council of La Coruña began at the beginning of last January the installation of smart meters, that will be carried out in more than a thousand homes and premises in the city so that water consumption can be controlled at all times and better plan needs.
