Augmented reality guest star of special Andalusian Elections on TVE
TVE used, special held to cover Andalusian elections, Brainstorm's real-time eStudio 3D rendering engine that enabled the generation and issuance of graphics, with real-time update, presented in an augmented reality format.
At the first election event of the year, Spanish Television has also wanted to launch the latest technological innovations for the broadcast of the special that it broadcast to cover the elections to the Parliament of Andalusia. Graphism and augmented reality were the stars invited to this program in which more than a hundred professionals participated.
This has been the occasion chosen by Spanish Television to employ for the first time augmented reality in the presentation in high definition of data minute by minute. From a few minutes before eight o'clock in the afternoon, closing time for polling stations, TVE put on the air a Special presented by Pilar G. Muñiz and Ana Blanco.
For its part, Vicente Gil-Dávila, filmmaker of the Special Andalusian Elections, counted for this program with a total of eleven cameras offering 360-degree shots of the set.
Some of these signals were used to shape the augmented reality developed by TVE staff over the real-time eStudio 3D rendering engine Brainstorm. This solution, in its version 12 (the most recent), served as the basis for the generation and issuance of all charts with real-time updating of the count data.
The eStudio platform allowed real-time 3D graphics to be embedded in the discussion table involving several journalists, achieving as a whole a realistic and spectacular effect by displaying the bar charts, the composition of the Hemiiclo or the distribution of the vote by provinces on a virtual map of Andalusia.
