Virtual reality and Oculus Rift allow you to choose the kitchen of your dreams in Leroy Merlin
3D Cocina Visor is the solution that Leroy Merlin makes available to its customers so that they can travel virtually, using the Oculus Rift, your entire catalog and select the one that best suits your needs. A POP platform that has been designed by Virtualware.
Leroy Merlin has launched a full service point (POP) of purchase for your customers based on virtual reality technology so that in an attractive and interactive way they can select the kitchen that best suits their needs.
The POP virtual reality software platform has been designed by Virtualware and has made it around the SDK2 of Oculus Rift that allows customers to immerse themselves in the offer offered by Leroy Merlin in an 'almost real' way. The software has been designed to be managed remotely and is scalable to allow the connection of multiple screens.
“The appearance of the Oculus Rift as a major player in the world of virtual reality has meant a qualitative leap in terms of the solutions of what we can now offer our customers. More and more companies and brands from different sectors, especially retail, are discovering the benefits of virtual reality, not only in terms of advertising, but also as an important POP solution that can help generate sales. 3D Kitchen Visor by Leroy Merlin is an excellent example of this", explains Unai Extremo, CEO of Virtualware.
Customers who come to Leroy Merlin stores in Spain can visit virtually 50 different models of kitchens that make up the retailer's catalog, see the full variety of colors for flooring, wall finishes, counters and cabinets.
Once the customer puts on the Oculus VR glasses, can virtually walk through each of the different kitchen spaces, see each model and, Later, receive an email with a photo and information associated with the kitchen furniture they have selected. Thanks to an additional display, installed in the store the rest of the public can also see what the person who has put on the virtual reality glasses is experiencing.
The VR system is being installed in several Leroy Merlin stores throughout Spain, where this strategic POP marketing campaign has become an innovative project. On the one hand, this solution offers an efficient way to save large areas of commercial space, normally reserved for complete kitchen mockups typically found in these DIY department stores.
and, on the other, the app provides Leroy Merlin with important customer data, giving them a better indication of what their tastes and preferences are, and opens the door to viral marketing campaigns thanks to in-app social media connectivity.
