The historic center of Toledo stars in the arrival of spring with 'La noche toledana', a wide range of concerts, theatre and screening shows, light and sound on the facades of its buildings and monuments. This cultural commitment of the city council has become a benchmark, that this year has had the participation of the public in the interactive videomapping made by Ibercover, in homage to 'Don Quixote'.

Twenty-four uninterrupted hours of cultural activities, music and entertainment around the proposal 'La noche toledana', celebrated from the past 24 to the 25 April, have turned the historic center of the capital of La Mancha into an environment full of magic, light and color, and in an annual reference in the cultural calendar of the Toledo City Council when spring comes.

This time, two important cultural anniversaries mark this cultural initiative: the V centenary of the death of Saint Teresa of Jesus and the IV of the second part of 'Don Quixote', and around them has revolved most of a wide range of free outdoor concerts, theatre, exhibitions, audiovisual shows and other activities in which citizens and tourists have been able to participate.

One of the shows that have starred 'La noche toledana' has been the interactive videomapping made on the façade of the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, with a theme of light and sound linked to the work of Miguel de Cervantes, and in which the public has been able to participate by creating projections on it.

Near 200 m2 of the façade of the monastery have served as a gigantic screen for this interactive visual experience with a quixotic theme, whose address, design and production has been carried out by the Toledo company Ibercover Studio, producer of events and audiovisual shows, with design and interactivity of the company Espadaysantacruz.

As Manuel Horischnik explains, responsible for the Ibercover project, "Thanks to technology, it is now possible to create scenarios in three dimensions in real time., at the same time that analog stimuli become digital effects".

specifically, the audience was able to control the projections to change the lighting, the colors and even 'collapse' the door of San Juan de los Reyes through a series of wooden and iron tools (Levers, cranks and bellows) and sensors built especially for this occasion by Espadaysantacruz, promoting interactivity and their experience with this innovative cultural proposal.

"The special thing about this artistic intervention is that all the content is created dynamically., using innovative interactive mapping techniques. The participation of the public is essential for the creation of the audiovisual piece. This is how the imaginary of the sixteenth century unfolds and transforms in front of our eyes into a novel and enveloping spectacle", underlines Horischnik.

To perform interactive videomapping, Ibercover has used a projector ship HDQ-2K40 by 40.000 Lumens, for frontal projection and located to 7 meters high, together with the Watchout system of Dataton to perform signal adjustment and firing, and technology Unity for the real-time creation of the interactive stage and different sensors in the mechanical gadgets used by the public.

Audio and lighting have been used 12.000 W of sound Norton Audio Staked (L+R), with 6 top and 6 Serious, as well as several led projectors for the setting of the show.

The company Ibercover has carried out important audiovisual projects in the capital of La Mancha, with the participation in the editions of the show Luz Greco (the last in the edition 2014, with a videomapping on the façade of the Primate Cathedral of Toledo around the fourth centenary of the death of the Cretan painter, as reported Digital AV Magazine), or on International Diabetes Day, joining the initiative carried out in thousands of monuments around the world with the blue lighting of the facades of the cathedral and the City Council of Toledo, also collected in this daily).
