Elation reinforces with Led panels and spectacular lighting the concerts of the Livewire hall

Located in the U.S. capital of Arizona, in Phoenix, the city of Scottsdale's renovated Livewire concert hall has opened its doors in a big way with the latest lighting and video technology from Elation Professional, integrated by the specialist Fyxx Entertainment.

Livewire is an iconic concert hall located in the heart of Scottsdale's entertainment area, that has crossed the borders of this town to become a benchmark of electronic music, live performances and corporate events in the Phoenix area, the capital of Arizona (Us.).

After a deep renovation of its facilities, the design and installation of Livewire has taken into account the priority use as a venue for live music of this room, of some 1.400 square meters, property Les Corieri (Evening Entertainment Group), to prepare you with the latest sound technology, video and lighting and expand its capacity to 1.100 people.

Adrian of Pamphilis, company Flyxx Entertainment, has been responsible for the installation project of the lighting and video systems, that has relied on the technology of Elation Professional, whose products it sells exclusively in Spain visualsvisual, with the deployment of 194 Elation EZ4 High Resolution Led Video Panels, of 4 Mm. pixel density, and with numerous models of the Platinum moving head series of this manufacturer.

One of the requirements of the owners of Livewire was that the quality of the systems that were installed was optimal to ensure that in the concerts and shows of professional artists there was no problem., as well as reliable after-sales service, to avoid bad experiences of the previous stage of the room.

This is underlined by Adriam de Pamphilis: "the most important thing when deciding which devices to install has been the after-sales service provided by Elation, something fundamental for Les Corieri, as they preferred to work with a single brand as far as possible and have a quick and direct contact with the technical service. In addition, Elation Professional products offer high quality, although in an installation with such a large number of devices,it will be inevitable that changes or repairs will have to be made from time to time. Hence the possibility of replacing a unit or from one day to the next without much difficulty".

Led video panels

The Livewire room is distributed over two floors with different spaces and bars, as well as a VIP area. A very important element in the decoration of the renovated enclosure is the Led screen that surrounds the entire gallery on the first floor, and that is visible from the dance floor. This screen, composed of high resolution modules of 4 millimeters of pixel density of the Elation Professional EZ4 model, has a length of 50 metre.

As de Pamphilis explains, "This video screen is used to support the lighting design of the different bands passing through the room., as well as to reinforce the corporate identity of the clients in the different events that take place and as advertising support for brands and sponsors of the room".

EZ4 video panels have also been installed in three other areas of the room. specifically, a screen of 6×5 has been placed on the stage, behind the artists, to which is added another, 3×2 metre, located in front of the DJ booth (also on stage).

Both visual systems are used to play various contents that are synchronized during electronic music sessions., creating an effect of layers and depths. In an example of versatility, when the DJ booth is removed from the stage to make way for live band performances or corporate events, this last Led screen rises and is located above the stage, which allows it to continue to be used in the shows, in addition to avoiding the installation and disassembly of the same for disco sessions.

In addition, another screen formed by Led panels of the same type and manufacturer has been installed in a circular truss, above the dance floor, to create a striking visual effect of 360 Degrees.

Each EZ4 module contains 10.816 Pixels (104×104 horizontally and vertically), ensuring an image of great sharpness and clarity, with a luminosity of 1.200 Nits. In the beginning, those responsible for Livewire considered the idea of installing higher resolution Led panels, although it was not necessary for its application.

"The EZ4 panels," says Adriam de Pamphilis- offer incredible image quality, even being at a distance very close to them. A screen of a higher resolution would not have added too much visually in this installation and we decided that it was an unnecessary extra investment that could be used in other elements of the room".

Versatile design and application

In Livewire all kinds of events take place: from concerts of varied musical styles (electronic music, jazz, rock or country) to corporate meetings, gala dinners and awards ceremonies. This flexibility of the enclosure requires a lighting design as versatile as possible..

"Livewire owners weren't just looking for a professional lighting system., they also needed it to be versatile and provide everything from basic stage lighting to bolder, more dynamic designs for DJ sessions.. With this installation with Elation Professional systems we can offer a completely different appearance and lighting every night", specifies the co-designer of the project.

In this sense, the room has a wide variety of products to offer varied designs and lighting effects as required. In different sections of the truss located above the stage, Platinum Wash 16R Pro moving heads have been installed, Platinum Spot 5R Pro, Platinum Beam 5R Extreme, in addition to Platinum Wash ZFX Pro, Platinum Spot Led II, Rayzor Beam2R and also the Par Led Elation Epar TRI.

For its part, six units of Elation Sniper 2R have been installed above the DJ booth, which are used to project a variety of scanner effects, beam and laser simulator on attendees of electronic music sessions. The Lumina Strip Led Bars, located above the Led video screen in front of the cab, provide a warm white light.

On the circular truss above the dance floor, and sharing space with EZ4 panels, more Rayzor Beam 2R moving head units have been installed, as well as additional Platinum Wash 16R Pro systems, in order to illuminate both the stage and the track. Around the room have been arranged five units of the Led strobe Protron 3K, that in addition to offering spectacular light effects, they also illuminate the different truss structures.

For these structures have been used 25 meters of led tape Elation Flex Pixel WP, providing RGB control and individual control of each pixel by DMX, and which can be deployed in the exact lengths required for each installation. This tape is used for immersive pixel-mapping visual effects, integrated into the overall lighting design of each of the events that take place in Livewire.

last, it should also be noted that most of the truss structures that support the lighting fixtures in Livewire are suspended with an automated engine system., that allows them to be positioned and tilted to provide lighting designers with greater flexibility and resources when carrying out their creative proposals, in addition to helping to perform the maintenance of the devices by lowering them to a working height at ground level.
