D&b ArrayCalc 8: Optimize sound quality in online arrangements
The ArrayCalc simulation software 8 of d&b Audiotechnik includes ArrayProcessing functionality that allows for higher sound quality in line array performance.
The German speaker system manufacturer, d&b Audiotechnik, has made public the version 8 of your ArrayCalc software that includes the ArrayProcessing function, which allows to increase the sound quality of the large format J Series of d&b, as well as V and Y Series line array systems.
ArrayProcessing is a new feature within the ArrayCalc simulation software 8 of d&b, which is shown as a prediction tool for the company's loudspeaker systems and which allows optimizing the tonal balance and pressure level of the line array system over an entire audience listening area, defined by its mechanical vertical coverage angle.
By applying the same specified frequency responses to all of the in-line arrays of d&b, All clusters are guaranteed to deliver consistent sonic results regardless of the length of the array or the adjustments between boxes.
Each box in the array should be individually amplified, because specific combinations of FIR and IIR impulse response filters are applied to each speaker. The only investment required is the additional amplifier channels that each speaker must power.
Thanks to ArrayProcessing, inside ArrayCalc, System designers can program multiple memories for different performance characteristics of the same array without the need for any mechanical adjustment. The constant additional latency of 5,9 MS remains unchanged and the entire system can be modified during an event to accommodate the required performance emphasis.
"ArrayProcessing perfects the performance of the inline arrays of the&B that, in turn, generate a direct and audible improvement in the overall sonic results. As it is integrated into the current d&b workflow (Workflow), Our online array customers secure their investment because they will get even better sound quality from their existing systems, whether they are permanently installed or mobile applications", explains Sabina Berloffa, Director of Marketing and Product Management at D&b Audiotechnik.
