Photo Prado: augmented reality to be photographed next to emblematic works of the Prado Museum

the National Prado Museum, in collaboration with Samsung as a technology partner, has developed the Photo Prado application that thanks to augmented reality technology allows visitors to take a personalized digital postcard as a souvenir, after choosing it among one of the fifty most emblematic works of the collection.
Available in thirteen languages, Photo Prado can be downloaded for free on smartphones and tablets and users can share their visit to the gallery through social networks.

The operation of Photo Prado is simple and takes place in three transit points in the museum where three panels with the augmented reality code are installed.. Once the app is downloaded, The user can choose from the image gallery of the application the box he wants to include in the postcard, Capture the code with your device's camera, which is replaced by the chosen table, and invite the people you want to portray to stand next to the panel. Then you will only have to adjust the size of the frame for the composition of the postcard and shoot.
The image gallery of this app includes representative works from the Permanent Collection of the Prado Museum, whose size is adjusted for the composition on the postcard depending on the size of the work and the number of people portrayed in it. Masterpieces, Landscapes, Portraits and historical scenes including, For example, 'The Garden of Earthly Delights', of Bosch; 'The Annunciation', by Fra Angelico; 'Las Meninas'’ or 'The Spears', by Velázquez.
