Panasonic brings harmony and diversity to Japan pavilion at Milan Expo
Panasonic projectors are used in the Japan pavilion of Expo Milan 2015 to create exhibition spaces that attract and immerse visitors in the themes shown in each of the rooms. The aim is to show the diversity offered by Japanese gastronomy and culture.
in Expo Milan 2015, that started the past 1 May and will end on 31 October, Japan is present with a pavilion that has been christened “Diversity in harmony” and where it reflects the knowledge and skills that can be found in Japanese gastronomy and culture.
Japan's pavilion is one of the largest among the participating countries and joins the group of those most popular with visitors. In this space, technology Panasonic used to create inspiring and engaging exhibition spaces for attendees.
The first room, called Prologue, describes the importance of the coexistence of the human race with nature through images and illustrations adapted to the subject.
A large screen projects novel paintings and calligraphic works that invite visitors to take a trip to a remote Eastern island nation.
The images are projected onto the surface of a wall and for this purpose the PT-DZ870 projector of a Panasonic DLP chip is used, that takes advantage of its high brightness and resolution to ensure clear images, even in a comparatively bright space. This solution was chosen, given the high reliability, minimal maintenance and low downtime. Key elements for an installation where a replacement projector is not available.
In the Harmony room, rural landscapes of the four floating seasons and water lilies are projected onto the walls, a combination that seeks to offer a total spatial environment. The images are projected into the room with 20 Panasonic PT-DW640 projectors from a DLP chip, that are accompanied by mirror reflections. Its compact and lightweight body allows the installation of equipment in confined spaces and Edge Blending and Digital Mapping functions help create a perfect projection on the large surface of water lilies.
Cascade of Diversity
The most popular facility is the Cascade of Diversity, consisting of a central column surrounded by a table. here, visitors are invited to download an app and place their mobiles in a special space on the table. After that, interact with content and add multiple images from the Cascade of Diversity to the phone. This facility is equipped with a total of ten PT-DZ870 projectors: four on the pillar and six on the table. These are combined using a geometric adjustment feature to deliver images with Edge Blending in a structure of unusual shapes.
Images projected onto the table are over-impressed over a flowing water projection, so high resolution is required. The PT-DZ870 projector stands out for its chromatic performance and high contrast, allowing you to show off the eye-catching blue waterfall in dark space.
The Innovation area tells a story full of excitement of the different solutions developed by Japan to respond to the environmental problems facing our planet. A room that has three PT-DZ870 projectors: one on a central circular screen and two on the side screens. This Panasonic equipment provides high color reproduction that allows you to incorporate credibility into the curved effect when images of the earth are projected onto the flat, circular screen.
A very tactile restaurant
The Main Show is a restaurant-style theater where visitors can place their order using a touch table with video projections. A total of five three-chip DLP PT-DZ13K projectors are used to create video screens that cover the entire wall and animate the center stage. Due to the size of the screens, images should be bright and high quality, and that's why three-chip DLP projectors were chosen for the application.
For projects of this level, Panasonic projectors, in terms of electricity consumption, compact size and reduced weight, help reduce the costs associated with creating large-scale projections.
