The Space Needle tower tells its story through an interactive touch videowall Planar

In order to provide visitors with complete information about this iconic building, a, Inside the Tower, a large interactive video wall that has been called SkyPad and is the result of the collaboration between Planar Systems and the design firm Belle & Wissell.
Configured with Planar Clarity Matrix MultiTouch Display Solutions, This video wall offers visitors a stunning visual immersion that highlights both the past and present of this architectural landmark. "SkyPad helps visitors immerse themselves in more than 50 Years of sunsets, of celebrations and a story that can be interacted with thanks to the touch functionality of the screen", explains Karen Olson, Vice President of Marketing at the Space Needle.
This interactive video wall is made up of 15 Clarity Matrix LCD Displays, in a configuration of one and a half meters wide by about one meter high each, that incorporate the latest in multi-touch technology with 32 points of contact, allowing multiple users to simultaneously interact with the video screen.
On the other hand, while other LCD touch screens require a front guard to be fitted, This Planar video wall solution is equipped with ERO technology (Extended Ruggedness and Optics) which provides a continuous contact surface and ensures optimal viewing, while making it easy to install and maintain.
Clarity Matrix MultiTouch LCD technology allows you to view different content inside the SkyPad. A central section of the video wall shows images of the Space Needle from the time it was built to the present day, while visitors can use their touch capabilities to select the images that interest them most and explore in greater detail.
At each end of the SkyPad there are sections that make up a digital guest book so that you can record your time in this iconic tower. They can also take photos and upload them to the Space Needle website or share them on social media.
