Epson interactive projectors integrate SMART Notebook software
This global technology collaboration fosters access to advanced collaborative learning solutions in the classroom, for both teachers and students.
Epson and SMART Technologies have announced during the education contest Bett 2016, which is being held these days in London until 23 January, a technological agreement based on the integration of the collaborative learning software SMART Notebook in the interactive projectors of the first in the world in order to facilitate access to collaborative learning solutions and participatory methodology in the classroom.
This is underlined by Graeme Davidson, Product Manager at Epson Europe: "Educators are looking for the best hardware and software solutions that will help them teach effectively and motivate student engagement, as well as achieving optimal learning outcomes. This collaboration directly meets the needs of teachers for participatory teaching, Shocking and enjoyable; as well as the ability to respond in real time to student needs. By combining these premium technologies for interactive learning, we are providing the tools that meet those needs".
The new agreement builds on the existing collaboration between the two companies (as already advanced Digital AV Magazine), which has enabled Epson to sell SMART Notebook software along with its interactive projectors in select global markets since last year, 2013.
In this sense, Epson will now include Notebook software, along with a SMART Notebook Advantage subscription for the first year, on your interactive projectors as standard around the world. The subscription allows customers to upgrade to any new version of the Notebook software within the first year of purchasing the equipment, as well as access to technical support and unlock the high-quality features in it.
Greg Estell, President of SMART Technologies Solutions, expressed his satisfaction "to expand the scope of our ongoing collaboration with Epson to make our offering global. Notebook Enables Educators to Easily Create Engaged, Interactive Learning, in a natural way for both teachers and students, and now they can do it on any Epson interactive projector".
The entire line of Epson interactive projectors has been fully tested and licensed with SMART for use with Notebook software, which is fully compatible with the interactive features of this manufacturer's equipment, such as touch control and dual pens. Both companies will offer customer support and training for their respective products, providing complete confidence to educators as they introduce a collaborative methodology into their classrooms and other learning spaces.
