McDonald's is the largest and best-known fast food restaurant chain in the world, with 27.000 locations distributed in 119 Countries. One of these countries in which it has a presence is in Uruguay, whose establishments are run by Arcos Dorados, the world's largest McDonald's franchise in terms of sales and number of stores across the system.

In an ongoing effort to provide the best customer service, McDonald's in Uruguay has continuously looked for new ways to make the customer experience faster and more comfortable. To achieve this, it has implemented operational changes in food production and has introduced a system called Made for you. (MFY).

In the MFY system, foodstuffs are made to order, production starts when the customer places his order with the cashier. Together with the offer of fresh and high quality products, the system aims to personalize each customer order, allowing them to tailor the ingredients of each sandwich or salad.

MFY's production process requires instant transmission of orders from the cash register to the kitchen preparation area, even before the customer has completed the order. The implementation of made for you kitchens required investment in hardware and software technology to facilitate operation., including monitors throughout the production area to show orders to kitchen staff.

Among the different factors necessary to make the made for You kitchen project a reality, the operations team decided to install several monitors on the production lines of different sizes and designs, in strategic locations so that the employees who place the orders had good visibility.

The screens had to be highly reliable and rugged enough for the commercial environment, in addition to providing excellent image and sound quality. It was also fundamental., have the right connectivity and integrate speakers.

The option chosen for this project was the display technology of ViewSonic. "We needed strong monitors, able to submit to the rigor of a restaurant kitchen, that were reliable, that not only offered quality, but also a guarantee with the proper backing. Va2246m-Led models, VA2451m- Led and VA2446m-Led of ViewSonic gave the appropriate response to all the requirements established by the company. “As for production operations, ViewSonic screens made our employees' jobs easier, with its Full HD resolution, Mega dynamic contrast ratio 10.000:1 and response time of 5 Ms, that offers at all times clear images that result in an excellent visual experience. In addition, thanks to the VESA mounting system, we have been able to easily install the screens in appropriate places, enabling clear uninterrupted insight between production teams”, clarifies Barbeito.

The Made for You system has been optimally received by McDonald's in Uruguay, as it has improved employee efficiency and reduced the production of food waste. Today all McDonald's Restaurants Uruguay have ViewSonic monitors, varying its quantity according to the size of the premises.

The larger ones come to have more than 8 monitors in your kitchens, and in total more than a hundred have been incorporated in the different stores. The company plans to open, short-term, open new branches to offer fresh meals made to order, delivered in real time from the cash register to the kitchen via ViewSonic displays.
