The University of Washington installs a large video wall in its new multidisciplinary collaboration room
This visualization solution, configured with six NEC X555UNV displays, It offers an immersive environment that allows researchers to share information, 3D Images & Presentations.
The Health Sciences Library (Health Sciences Library) two years ago, the University of Washington created a partnership with the Institute of Translational Health Sciences, the University of Washington Medicine Research Information Technology and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (Pacific Northwest Region) in order to promote research, training and access to resources, both for students, as university professors and researchers.
With this goal in mind, he decided to create and fund a collaborative space on the university's campus that will accelerate research and innovation by enabling a multifaceted approach. “Transforming learning spaces and medical libraries for researchers working at a university is going to require interactive spaces”, comments Tania Bardyn, associate dean and director of the Health Sciences Library.
To design the new Translational Research and Information Lab (Trail) and install the required digital signage solution, the Health Sciences Library contracted the services of the AV integrator CompView.
“They wanted it to be a high-impact space, A collaborative, multi-purpose environment that will incorporate a visualization system that could be used by different departments”, comments Laurie Simon, CompView Sales Account Executive.
After the different possible decks, we opted for the installation of a video wall in 2 format.×3 Integrated by 55 X555UNV inch NEC Display, that would help health sciences researchers analyze and visualize the data, as well as having the ability to send six different sources from various devices to the entire video wall or to a certain area.
“Everyone had to be able to access and share the system, And it had to be easy to use without needing to be tech-savvy,” clarifies Laurie Simon.
To allow connection with platform types, Whether it's a laptop, Tablet, PC or Mac, On the front of the display frame, all input connections have been implanted.
The new space has been located in an old room dedicated to offices that has been remodeled and adapted for the new use to which it is being dedicated. This area has two internal windows so there is a dearth of ambient light, which is why CompView opted for a display instead of a projector, as this could offer brighter images.
This Trail incubator has been designed with a comfortable environment and adapted to the use to be given, Its main element is this video wall configured with six screens that allows users to use their own devices to display data, 3D images or presentations.
