The Palacio de Congresos de Valencia presents the AV potential of its technological transformation
The Valencian venue has completed its technological renovation, carried out in two phases, which has culminated in an innovative provision of audiovisual equipment in the auditoriums and rooms that compose it, The integration of which has been carried out by the specialist in audiovisual installations Ruybesa, Awarded the main contract in public tender.
About to celebrate its nineteenth anniversary, the Valencia Congress Palace presented the result of an ambitious project, driven by the Valencia City Council and developed during the exercises 2016 and 2017, for the technological transformation of the building, providing all its facilities with advanced stage lighting equipment, safety, air conditioning, sound and video, Etc. in order to place it at the forefront for the celebration of large events and congresses of all kinds.
This project has been integrated by the specialist in audiovisual installations Ruybesa, Awarded the main contract, through public tender, for the supply and assembly of audiovisual equipment in the auditoriums and halls that make up the Valencia Conference Centre. This company also carried out the modernization of the stage lighting system last year, replacing the existing equipment with LED spotlights.
From a commercial point of view, the team at the Valencia Conference Centre is working with a portfolio of more than five hundred events at the moment. Much of the success in holding this type of event is due to the versatility of its infrastructures. The uniqueness that Norman Foster's design gave to the building, contributed to its election as Best European Building by the Royal Institute of British Architects, shortly after its inauguration.
Following the investments of 2016, with an injection of 450.000 Euros, The Valencia City Council has focused the second phase of the project on turning this facility into a technologically competitive centre, at the level of the most advanced congress centers, which has resulted in the renewal of fixed audiovisual equipment, for new systems, State-of-the-art developments and technologies.
Ruybesa has proposed for this renewal (More details in the attached table) Solutions such as including laser projectors in all spaces (not less than 5.000 Lumens); change the production system to 4K, with cameras with this technology provided with 20x optical zoom (similar to that of motion picture cameras) and wide-angle 24 Mm (provides maximum sharpness and reduces ghosting and reflections), plus a Blackmagic multi-layered system for dual duty: Camera production and live presentation.
Added to this is the use of Bosch's Dicentis IP conferencing system (This building is so far a pioneer in Spain in the acquisition of the same) and the Integrus simultaneous translation system, that offers integrated solutions that link auditoriums and halls through the computer network. For those rooms without installation or pre-installation of conferences or simultaneous translation, A portable rack has been designed that, Connected to a computer network outlet in the room, Receive translation from existing booths, which guarantees the maximum intelligibility of speeches and presentations, achieving face-to-face debate experiences.
A new electroacoustic line array system has been incorporated into the main auditorium, that reduces distortions to the maximum and provides high fidelity at high frequencies, to deliver optimal, immersive sound at all times, to the point that the Palacio de Congresos is also the only specialized venue in Valencia that so far has this type of technology fixed in the building.
