A night in which a multitude of creative proposals and cultural events designed in the form of a walk were offered. Madrileños and tourists were able to enjoy an artistic program marked by creativity and cutting-edge technology, where light, Music and the city were protagonists.
Fourteen national and international artists, from Spain, France, Holland, United Kingdom and Canada, formed the artistic program to which were added the activities programmed by Casa de América, Naval Museum, Stock Exchange Palace, Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, Medialab Prado, Caixaforum, National Museum of Anthropology, Royal Botanical Garden and Crystal Palace (MNCARS), Institutions all closely linked to this emblematic space of the city.
Among the creative proposals that could be seen was 'The look through the door', a large-scale audiovisual intervention carried out on the Puerta de Alcalá where they were installed 150 square meters of Led screens set in their arches, to become a huge living canvas.
For its realization Otu Cinema invited three creators of international projection linked to Madrid: Alba Corral, Pablo Pro and AETU who proposed differentiating and interconnected audiovisual proposals that, through three monumental projections, they turned the main arches of the emblematic Puerta de Alcalá into a window from which to attend an audiovisual journey that transformed the ordinary urban landscape.
'Narcissus' was shown as a project that combined art and technology, where the public is the protagonist. The installation, which was held in the Plaza de Cibeles , It consisted of a sculpture and a helmet that, in real time, transmitted and projected, on a large head of seven meters, Images of the face of the person wearing it. Formatted faces were distorted when projected onto the sculpture.
In the Retiro Park the main installation was 'Waterlicht'. A work created by the Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde that uses Led lighting to create a virtual flood that seeks to raise awareness about the rise in water levels caused by global warming.
Paseo del Prado
The Paseo del Prado was the scene of a large number of proposals such as 'Keyframes', 'La symphonie conique', 'Les Voyageurs', 'Axiom', 'Control not control', 'Parametric charts' or 'Pivoine Couleurs'.
'Keyframes' is a work created by Thomas Veyssiere conceived for public spaces that, ephemeral, are invaded by characters of light. Designed according to the principle of decomposition of movement (chronophotography) and kinetics, Characters are placed in space in precise positions to recreate stories through programmed lighting sequences.
'La symphonie conique' comes from France by the hand of the Compagnie Airvag that seeks to take the public to a universe of abstract forms, Light and sounds by a universe composed of interactive cones of 8 to 14 meters high, with colors that change and sounds that come out of its interior according to the movement of the attendees.
In 'Les Voyageurs' its author, Cédric Le Borgne, He creates illuminated human figures with which he tries to integrate the work into the movement., Time and space, in a context of life, without preconceived notions about the nature of the spaces with which he works: Interiors, Foreign, Hypercenters, Suburbs, Wasteland… Each has its own poetry and dimensions, visible or invisible.
In 'Axiom', Onionlab It proposes a journey that takes the public through different stages or dimensions: the size 0, The point; One dimension, The line; 2D, The map; 3D, Volumes; the N scale, Complex geometric shapes. An intersection between art and technology to interpret the branch of mathematics that studies the properties of geometric figures.
It is a stereoscopic 3D mapping show composed of two-dimensional images that produce a three-dimensional effect when viewed frontally with special glasses that were distributed among the public..
'Control no control' is an interactive installation by Canadian artist Daniel Iregui where bright lights are combined, Sound and interactivity. Using your hands, arms or whole body, The public can control the graphical display, The movement of the installation and its soundscape.
It is an interactive Led sculpture that offers a playful way to explore how actions affect the environment and how other people can respond to them.
The Royal Botanical Garden was the setting chosen to shape the creation of Javier Riera, 'Parametric graphics'. A work that is based on geometrically shaped light projections made directly on vegetation and landscape.
And in this same area the installation 'Pivoine Couleurs' was also carried out, that gives life to gigantic flowers that light up with a thousand reflections and colors. At the foot of each peony, A soft light invited visitors to sit next to the flowers to admire the play of light.
