Polycom has signed a merger agreement to acquire the San Jose-based VoIP terminal software and hardware developer, Obihai Technology. The strategic incorporation of its software and powerful team allows Polycom to compete more effectively in the global voice market and expand its portfolio by incorporating complementary technologies for service providers and customers of all sizes.

With this agreement, Polycom wants to focus on its goal of increasing the availability of its desk phones to a wider range of customers and partners. In addition, Its commitment to the global network of service providers for VoIP solutions is reinforced.
