entity, moving installation that interacts with the public at the Etopia art center
Zaragoza City Council, through Etopia Center for Art and Technology, shows since yesterday the interactive videomapping of the video artist Ernesto Sarasa.
"Ente is an allegory of our relationship with the audiovisual medium today, that not only shows us images and sounds, but it also observes us, it manipulates and uses us", this is how the video artist Ernesto Sarasa describes his work Ente, which opened yesterday in Etopia Center for Art and Technology of Zaragoza (more data in Digital AV), .
Ente is an interactive motion videomapping installation, made in artistic residence at the Audiovisual Laboratory of Etopia with the help of engineers Eduardo Estopiñán and Miguel Ángel Varona, specialists in interactive audiovisual technologies and OpenFrameworks programming, with which the Zaragoza artist reflects on technological alienation.
Through Kinect cameras, that detect the image of visitors, Ente captures who interacts with this installation and integrates their figure in the screens that surround the space in which it is located, thus simulating a living organism – an entity -, that evolves with external action and that serves as an allegory of people's relationship with audiovisual media.
Designer, illustrator, audiovisual artist,... Ernesto Sarasa is a multidisciplinary creator with a long professional experience. since 2003, also works in audiovisual experimentation and animation, in which he includes his own sound compositions using samplers and field recordings, manipulating and disintegrating them with electronic resources, with artistic works in various new media projects, often under the pseudonym Fonosträbico.
