'Digital School' project uses Sony Bravia monitors to improve learning
For the digitization of 37 schools in the Norwegian municipality of Bérum have been installed 717 Sony monitors that facilitate educational development and student experience in classrooms.
A project to digitize the school day has been completed by the Norwegian municipality of Bérum, called Digital school day (digital school), aimed at technologically updating the classrooms of schools in this area and improving the learning experience of their students, facilitate their educational development and prepare them for a digital future.
After successfully developing the pilot project in which he equipped four schools in the area with projectors, screens and whiteboards to introduce collaborative technology into the classroom, this digitization initiative subsequently extended to a total of 37 schools in this school district, who pledged to use technology in their classrooms, so all students and teachers have their own tablets, with the selection of more than thirty different applications.
These previous digitization solutions focused on the use of projectors and whiteboards, and the priority of Brum over time was to find a more visual and automated solution. The municipality's requirements included the delivery of screens, with a minimum size of 70", matte surface and reasonably priced.
In addition, requested as part of the project that the solution be easy to connect to tablets and include automatic switching, in order to reduce boot time. As well as the displays will also connect seamlessly to a computer via HDMI or VGA cables, and that were compatible with various streaming solutions.
Sony proved to be the solution that met these requirements to integrate technology into classrooms, according to the project carried out by Evercom AS, audiovisual integrator and partner of this manufacturer in Norway, consisting of the installation of 717 Bravia professional monitors in a total of 37 schools in the municipality, classrooms designed to house up to thirty students.
specifically, this solution includes 4K monitors and Sony Full HD Color Led, energy-efficient and with a brightness of more than 400 Nits, designed to enable easy integration thanks to their mounting flexibility and control options. Another advantage is that Evercom AS has been able to perform an automated configuration of a single monitor, upload the settings to a USB device and insert it into the rest of the screens, without having to adjust each one manually.
These sony professional monitors typically offer online operation during 17-18 hours a day, although those installed in the schools of the municipality of B'rum are approved for continued use 24/7.
For Christian S.B.R. Larsen, special adviser to management teams at the schools in The, "this initiative is part of a larger project focused on collaboration and cooperation, not just between teachers and students, but also among the students themselves, where the user interface is critical. Technology has been an aspect that has always created uncertainty for our teachers and forced them to create alternative plans if it left them lying. These monitors help reduce this concern and give teachers more confidence in technology".
