DAS Audio Expands Vantec Range with 218A Dual Powered Subwoofer

The new Vantec 218A unit features a dual speaker and is aimed at the portable system and DJ market due to its compact size and power.

Vantec 218A is a self-powered subwoofer system, with which DAS Audio provides a wide low-frequency response for Vantec systems. A powerful amplifier sends the signal to two D.A.S. long-excursion speakers. 18LX, incorporating 4" coils and robust magnetic structures for handling high power.

The Vantec 218A amplifier is Class D and has a switching power supply, digital signal processor and a power range of 4.000 Wpico. A powerful DSP takes care of signal processing to provide maximum control over critical signal parameters.

Users can select configurations via a single-command interface and LCD display located at the rear of the enclosure. A large number of presets and low-pass filters allow this low-frequency unit to be acoustically aligned with other Vantec wide-range cabinets.

The compact enclosure of Vantec 218A is made of birch plywood and has a high-strength finish using highly durable ISO-flex black paint, with a powder-coated steel front grille to protect components. The handles located on the sides and back of the enclosure, attached to the two wheels at the rear make it easy to transport on tours and performances.
