Qualcomm improves the experience of VR and AR devices with its XR1 processor
Accelerating and improving video and audio experiences in virtual and augmented reality glasses in an affordable way is the goal of the new Snapdragon XR1 processor.
The new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1, that the company has just presented at Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2018, that is celebrated these days in the Californian town of Santa Clara (United States) has been developed specifically for high-quality extended reality technology integrated into virtual or augmented reality glasses, No need for a smartphone or computer.
Equipped with eight Kryo cores 385, XR1 processor can support panels and graphics with 4K resolution at 60fps, with voice control (also compatible with Qualcomm audio technologies) and 802.11ac WiFi and 4G LTE connectivity (a través del Snapdragon X20 LTE).
El fabricante ha integrado en lo que denomina XR1 platform un motor de inteligencia artificial para el procesamiento de esta tecnología y algoritmos basados en el aprendizaje automático para una mejor clasificación de los objetos y posicionamiento, con software Snapdragon XR.
