Polycom PDMS: cloud services to manage devices in meeting rooms
This new cloud-based tool provides information and control to businesses of all the technology used in meeting rooms.
The new one Polycom Device Management Services, which is part of the company's unified cloud solutions strategy, provides new capabilities for enterprise customers to manage and measure their telephony devices. In addition to continuing to develop new proposals, add services for solution providers in the coming months.
These new services simplify the audio device lifecycle management process by using the cloud to provide data and analytics to manage, monitor and measure the increasing complexity of audio devices in organizations.
As Mary McDowell points out, CEO of Polycom, "As innovation in meeting technology accelerates, so does complexity. Polycom cloud services offer customers unique data, informative and actionable that enable IT professionals to understand the value of their meeting rooms and make smart technology decisions that create productive and satisfying experiences for their employees.".
PDMS service for enterprise customers gives IT professionals the ability to easily manage all Polycom audio devices, including desk and conference room telephones, from a single cloud portal.
Polycom's RealConnect interoperability solution, which will be part of the company's cloud services in the third quarter of this year, creates an interoperability layer that runs audio services, specifically Microsoft Skype for Business, in a customer's current environments using Polycom or other hardware.
Regarding services for service providers, Polycom will launch a version of PDMS in the third quarter of this year developed specifically for these customers, that will allow them to incorporate the management and analysis of the company's audio devices into their experience in the customer portal. Among other things, benefit from improved uptime and the ability to anticipate and mitigate customer issues, add critical analytical data and customize devices to meet customer needs.
In addition, the company will present in this same period an API so that service providers can customize the services and analysis they need for each client, thus making PDMS a platform that opens the door to future innovations and development opportunities, as handsets like Polycom Trio will be even smarter in the future, as underlined from the company.
Polycom's cloud services currently focus on audio devices and solutions, but the company plans to add corporate client support for video conferencing devices for the purposes of 2018. "Simplifying connections between humans is in our 'dna', so leverage the cloud to improve the way our customers manage, measure and use their voice systems, video and content makes a lot of sense", explains Tarun Loomba, Vp. Polycom Global Solutions Executive.
