Allen & Heath expands the SQ series with the new SQ-7 console 33 faders and 48 canals
Equipped with the powerful 96kHz motor of the SQ series, Allen & Heath also offers new control and I/O possibilities in larger format and with 48 canals.
After the success obtained with the SQ-5 and SQ-6 models, the new SQ-7 console Allen & Heath (brand it represents in Spain Audio-Technica Iberia), equips the same XCVI 96kHz FPGA engine in a larger format that deploys 33 Faders, 32 internal preamplifiers, 16 Customizable SoftKeys and 8 rotary controls, user-definable function.
SQ-7 is a console of 48 canals, fully compatible with the range of remote I/O expanders, including DX168 96kHz portable stage boxes. Entries and mixes can be assigned individually to 192 fader strips in six layers, whereas 16 SoftKeys and 8 software-assignable rotary function controllers allow you to customize the mixer workflow according to the needs of each show and user.
The next Dante network audio cards, Waves and SLink further expand the possibilities of expansion, system integration, FoH/monitor splits and recording. Optional DEEP processing plug-ins provide SQ-7 users with access to compressor and preamp emulations, which can be embedded directly into all input and mix channels, without adding latency to the system or having to suffer configuration problems.
The SQ-Drive that incorporates the console facilitates recording in stereo or multitrack, with resolution of 96 khz, directly to a USB drive. It can also connect directly to a PC or Mac computer via USB, to become a plug and play 32 audio interface×32, compatible Core Audio or Asio, with Midi and DAW control capability.
Another advantageous feature for AV customers is the inclusion of two automatic microphone mixers, fully integrated and assignable, that can be combined to create a powerful AMM of 48 canals.
According to Keith Johnson, Allen product manager & Heath, "SQ-7 incorporates everything that makes working with SQ so exciting.: the power, speed, ergonomics, in a more imposing format that allows us to further boost its capabilities. As soon as we introduce SQ, we were inundated by messages from people who were enthusiastic about their concept and characteristics, and that they wanted to bring SQ to scenarios that required more built-in I/O and more hands-on control, and this model is for them".
SQ-7 is supported by a complete ecosystem of mixing and personal monitoring apps, remote I/O expanders, network audio cards and personal ME mixers, which multiplies the capacity of integration and expansion of the system.
