Café Vivaldi bets on Meyer Sound for its sound infrastructure
Meyer Sound IntelligentDC reinforcement systems have been installed in the 17 establishments that this chain of restaurants has in Denmark. In total the infrastructure has more 400 speakers and subwoofers of this manufacturer.
Established in 1999, Café Vivaldi is a string that has 17 locations throughout Denmark. Most establishments have a terrace and menus offer a wide variety of options, from light cafeteria meals to à la carte dinners.
For this chain of establishments sound quality is a priority and to ensure an acoustic environment, the company Prime Production has installed the reinforcement systems Meyer Sound IntelligentDC to offer optimal playback of recorded music and, in some places, live music performances.
“To succeed in the restaurant business it is not enough to serve good food. You need to create a space where people want to stay, where you can talk and listen, where you enjoy the feeling of the place", comment Chibo Deliktas, founder and CEO of Café Vivaldi.
According to Deliktas, that goal is reinforced by the sound quality. "When Peter Petersen of Prime Production showed me the Meyer Sound solution, I saw that this was the option for Café Vivaldi. What I heard was a system that could play music on all levels and without producing distortions”.
One of the largest installations made by Meyer Sound in a Danish restaurant has been that of the Café Vivaldi in Odense. The system comprises 40 MM-4XP self-powered compact speakers and 14 UP-4XP, along with seven MM-10XP subwoofers.
the 68 speakers incorporate Meyer Sound's IntelligentDC technology, combining the performance advantages of self-powered systems with the installation efficiency of Class cabling 2.
A single five-conductor cable directs DC power and balanced audio signal to speakers from seven rack-mounted MPS-488HP signal distribution units and power supply. System optimization is handled by a Galileo speaker processor 616.
Despite its understated appearance, IntelligentDC speakers have ample power reserves to deliver high-energy music playback. “In Odense we have a DJ who plays at night, turning our café into a lively cocktail bar. With Meyer Sound we can make that transition without compromising audio quality”, continues Deliktas.
Meyer Sound solution installed in all Café Vivaldi locations uses IntelligentDC speaker systems exclusively.
Café Vivaldi management also operates a nightclub called Nattoget where 13 Meyer Sound speakers and subwoofers powered by AC subwoofers (UPJ-1P, USW-1P, UMS-1P and 600-HP) increase IntelligentDC systems. The total speaker count for all locations has reached the 410 Equipment.
For Peter Petersen, director of Prime Production, the meyer sound intelligentdc concept represents the balance of guaranteed performance and ease of installation. "With the XP series of speakers, we don't have to think about long cable lines that compromise sound quality. We only have to run one cable per speaker".
