Bonpreu-Esclat has returned to bet on TMM Group and its platform Waapiti for the design and implementation of an interactive tool, located in the fresh sections of the shops, that improves the shopping experience of users with allergies or food intolerances.

The application of allergens is designed, above all, for supermarkets or grocery stores that have unpackaged food, and who is required by Food Information Legislation to inform their users of ingredients and allergens.

TMM Group in Bonpreu-EsclatThe creation of this tool was born for three main reasons: the legal, required by legislation requiring reporting of allergens from unpackaged products; the technological, arising from the need to transform from paper to digital; and the experiential that arises from the need to innovate and improve the experience at the point of sale.

These reasons, added to others such as the need to differentiate the assortment according to establishment, display information in multiple languages or have data synchronized in real time with the database (ERP), boosted Bonpreu-Esclat, together with TMM Group – Waapiti, to design an interactive catalogue of allergens and ingredients.

The application is divided into sections as charcuterie, cheese factory, bakery and butcher shop, and inside the categories of each one are shown. The customer can select a section and start filtering by the 14 allergens, displaying the categories and within them the results that do not contain this allergen. At last, you can consult the file of each product with detailed information of ingredients.

The tool contains different sections of the same establishment, but automatically in each establishment only the available sections and their respective products are shown.

The application is automatically synchronized with the client's database. For this interactive project, a previous integration with the client's data system is essential..

"This integration is what allows us to automatically synchronize data every time the customer makes a change to their database., so that everything is centralized and there is no duplicate data. We thus facilitate the high, product cancellations or modifications, At the same time, that we distribute the items according to the availability in each store", comments Derek Hossack, IT Director at Waapiti.

Interactive visual support

TMM Group in Bonpreu-EsclatThe interactive solution is presented on a professional touch screen from between 16 and 22 inches with a built-in player. This robust stand is designed to work 24 hours, can be installed vertically or horizontally, according to space availability; and is presented on one foot, on a wall or integrated into furniture.

Content playback is stable, fluid and secure as it is an application that works locally and not a web browser that displays a web page, In addition, in this way the online query of data to that critical information is minimized, such as prices or stock.

All interaction data as login, consultation of categories and products are registered on the Waapiti platform. The analysis of this information, cross with other data such as sales, allow conversion ratios that will contribute to product sales strategy decisions.

In this type of interactive application more functionalities can be integrated according to the needs of the project, for example: shopping cart where it can be printed or emailed, existing payment system and sensors, as a barcode reader to read the customer's card and identify the user, and thus be able to offer a more personalized experience.
